🇺🇸 OUR VETERANS NEED YOUR HELP 🇺🇸
One of the greatest privileges of my new role at The Veterans Place has been watching Veterans take one of the biggest steps of their lives—moving from homelessness or housing instability into a place they can finally call home.
But there's a heartbreaking reality...
Many leave with little more than the clothes they own.
At The Veterans Place, we do everything we can to make sure our Veterans don't walk into an empty apartment. We send them with the basics needed to begin again with dignity. Unfortunately, our supply room is running critically low, and right now we need our community's help.
🚨 We are especially in need of:
☕ Coffee Makers (critically low) 🍲 Crock Pots (critically low) 🍞 Toasters or Toaster Ovens (critically low) 📺 Televisions (critically low) 📡 Microwaves (critically low)
We are also accepting donations of:
🛏️ Bedroom • Bed frames • Bedding • Pillows
🍽️ Kitchen • Mixing bowls • Cooking utensils • Dishes & silverware • Measuring cups • Cutting boards • Pizza cutters • Potato peelers • Pots & pans • Storage containers
🛁 Bathroom • Towels • Hand towels • Bath mats • Shower curtains, liners & hooks • Washcloths • Shampoo • Body wash • Toothpaste • Non-slip shower mats
🧹 Cleaning Supplies • Brooms & dustpans • Mops & buckets • Vacuums • Trash cans & bags • Dish strainers • Dish soap & sponges • Paper towels • Toilet paper • Cleaning sprays • Plungers • Toilet bowl brushes
🏠 Household Items • Lamps • End tables • Dressers • Couches, loveseats or recliners • Curtains or blinds • Entry rugs • TV stands
Every coffee maker, every towel, every microwave, every couch... it's one less thing a Veteran has to worry about as they begin rebuilding their life.
If you have gently used items in good, clean working condition—or would like to purchase something new to donate—we would be incredibly grateful.
This community has always shown up when someone needs a hand. Today, I'm asking if we can do that once again... for the men and women who served our country.
❤️ If you'd like to donate or have questions, please call (802) 485-8874 or message Veterans Place. Monetary donations can be mailed to The Veterans Place 220 Vine St, Northfield, VT 05663 or by using the QR code pictured below.
From all of us—and especially from the Veterans whose lives will be changed by your generosity—thank you. 🇺🇸

📚 Back-to-School Supply Drive ✏️

ALA Unit 59 was overwhelmed by the generosity of our community when our Education Chairman, Pat Sherman, collected school supplies for local students. Let's make this year's drive even bigger!

Collection boxes are located at our American Legion Post in Waterbury. If you can't stop by in person, you can also donate through Venmo.
Every dollar donated will be used by our "Education Elf," Pat Sherman, to purchase the school supplies listed on our flyer. Your support helps ensure local students have the tools they need for a successful school year.

Thank you for helping us make a difference—one backpack, sharpener, and pencil at a time! ❤️📚✏️

Please see the flyer below for the list of requested school supplies. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated!
