Here’s why I post those pictures… Quite simply, to celebrate our beautiful cows, and bring a little humor and joy to you.🤍 Sometimes it’s in a post, along with a little info, and sometimes it’s a quick photo added to my story.
And I will tell you… On those rare occasions that a Tuesday slips by with no photo, I get messages, asking where it is.😂 As long as you’re enjoying them, I’ll keep posting them!🤍

HAPPY MID-FEBRUARY!
Not at all sure where January went, but it’s been a while since I did a little introduction, so here goes.🧡
I’m Maureen… My husband and I own Lockwood III Dairy in California, I own a portrait photography business, and I’m a children’s book author. I love running businesses, and really love our dairy, the cows, and educating and advocating for the dairy industry, especially when children are involved. Reading my books and sharing my story with children… that’s my happy place.🥰
I’ve been happily married to Darin for 38 years, have 4 amazing children, 2 wonderful sons in law, and 2 beautiful grandchildren. My family is one of my greatest blessings, with God right in the center of it.🥰
All of my businesses circle right back to our dairy.
I take family photos, high school seniors, etc… mostly at our ranch. A lot of my best photos include some of our beautiful cows.
I wrote three children’s books, sharing my true story about my extra special red Holstein, Clarice and her calf, Mitzi. I’m a little obsessed😅 with red Holsteins, which has turned into a business in the very best way. I now sell sweet little custom plushies to go with my books, and even Clarice The Red Cow blankets. I currently have over 20 stores carrying my merchandise, (across the USA) sell them directly from my website, and participate in Ag Days, Farmers Markets and various vendor events. I am so very thankful for each opportunity to share my story, and am always thinking about what will be next…🤔
I serve on 2 state boards for the dairy industry, including the California Milk Advisory Board and Dairy Council of California. I do a little traveling with both boards, help with projects, and do whatever I can to help advocate for California Dairy.
Oh, and when I’m not busy doing something dairy &/or business related, I love to spend time with my family, travel, explore and see and experience new things! Feel free to find me on Facebook to see more of that.😉 I try to keep it mostly ‘dairy’ here, (ours and our son’s) as I assume that’s why you’re following along!😅
I’m here to share! 🧡My Reese🧡
It’s Tuesday, and a great excuse for me to look through some recent photos of our cows… because TONGUE OUT TUESDAY is a thing around here!😅
So, I ran across this one of Reese, and thought I’d throw in a little update. Reese is one of Clarice’s successful embryo transfers. She’s already 4 years old, and reminds me the most of Clarice. She’s got more red in her coloring like Clarice did, and her personality is very similar. She’s a sweetheart… with a bit of diva.😉🧡
A little over a year ago, there was a flu that swept through California cattle, and two of my reds got it. Reese was one of those, and as a result, she aborted a calf, and her reproductive system was affected. So far, she has just one calf, Candy-K. However, we are watching her closely, working with our veterinarian, getting her in top notch health, and will be seeing what we can do to get her back on track.
As you know, my reds are really something special around here, so you can rest assured that she (& all of the cows) are being cared for in the best way.🧡🤍🖤
