Debris in our driveway again…

Today marks the third day since Saturday that our ditches have overflowed and covered our driveway.

Unfortunately, we are at the bottom of the slope and all the fields to the north of us drain right to our property.

We have a new river on the east side we have ponds absolutely everywhere. I’ve lost track of how much rain exactly we’ve gotten but I’m pretty certain north of 6 inches at this point.

I think the cows are going to need scuba gear soon 🤪

When I posted yesterday it was just to share how nutritious raw milk is. That it sustains me when it’s too hot to eat. But something else happened. Something unexpected.

So many of you sent me DMs and texts about opening your homes for us to hang out and cool off.

I received a few extra dollars with a payment to treat myself to a cold drink.

And yet another loaned us a portable Air Conditioner and fans.

Ya’ll I am speechless. I am so moved my eyes are sweating. This morning I am reading the book of Matthew, chapter 10, and a verse the hasn’t stuck out before does; “Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve to be fed.”

Last night it was SO HARD for me to accept the offer of the AC unit. I nearly said no, it’s okay we’re fine. And the truth is we are. But one of you felt convicted to help my family be more comfortable. And against my normal behavior, I accepted her hospitality.

The last verse of Matthew 10 says; “And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”

It’s funny how one act of generosity, one act of obedience, can hold so much meaning.

I hope you all have a blessed day!

And a picture of Lena sleeping so sweetly to reward you for reading all this!

Day 15 of no air conditioning…🥵🥵🥵

I’m convinced it wouldn’t be that bad if we hadn’t also gotten 6 inches of rain in the past 15 days.

How do we stay cool and nourished? smoothies of course!

When it’s 80° and 80% humidity in my house and just as 🔥 hot outside I can’t eat.

My favorite smoothie is several large frozen strawberries, a few frozen raspberries, a few frozen blueberries, two scoops of unflavored protein powder, a teaspoon of agave, vanilla, a few ice cubes and 16 ounces of

Stay cool friends!

A good friend and I traveled to Jefferson Wisconsin to visit Brattset Family Farm LLC and learn from Salatin!

Caring for our land in a managed/adaptive/rotational grazing system and using nature to help us our objective. We wish to move toward 100% grass fed herd, but that takes time and selective breeding from dairy cows.

Joel talked about ALL the things. Grazing, gains, heath, employees, stacking enterprises, government bills, buildings, composting, and so much more. Getting to listen to suggestions, ideas and experiences from him first hand was invigorating. Getting to spend the day with a beautiful friend was refreshing.

Huge thank you to Brattset Family and Glacierland RC&D for a wonderful event.

This is uncharacteristic of me…but here we go!

I am vehemently opposed to data centers. Thousands of data centers are being built/proposed across the country. Not because we saved too much to the cloud or use an app to edit a photo. These data centers are being built to collect and analyze everything. Remember those cars that will be built and decide if you’re fit for driving….

I learned about the Wahawk data center being approved by Waterloo within the past seven days. It was approved by the City Council in December.

❌ I am opposed because they collect and use our data against us.

❌ I am opposed because they take our water and electricity.

❌ I am opposed because they are taking farmland.

❌ I am opposed because private companies receive incentives funded by taxpayers, when we didn’t get a say.

The best interview compilation I’ve seen regarding data centers, is in the comments. The end where they discuss the “unanimous vote” to bring a data center to Utah is the best 🙄

Is it possible to stop now? I don’t know. But if you want to slow or stop a data center from our community, sign the petition, start paying attention to city council meetings, and attend primaries on June 2nd, or before. We have lots of very important seats open this year.

I’ve spent many years not paying attention to politics, like so many others. Now is the time to stop and pay attention. The biggest changes start at the most local levels.

Stop the construction of the Wahawk Power Data Center

The studies that Mark references in his response I hear anecdotally nearly every week. Our milk has helped people with Crohn’s, gas, bloating, diarrhea, eczema, allergies, and so much more.

Pasteurization affects people more than you’d expect. We take it a step further and exclusively offer A2/A2 milk.

We purchased our first cow not knowing her Beta Casein structure, but later tested to learn she was A2/A2. Because we had such a great physical response to her milk, when we started our dairy we decided to stick with all A2/A2 cows. Why mess with a good thing?
