Thank you to those who follow the journey of CrossCut BBQ!!! We only did four competitions this year, and ended our competition year Saturday at the SD BBQ Shootout at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD. Nice to have one close to home!!! Thank you Trent for a great contest!!! Thank you to Chastity and Lacy for all of your help!!! We thought our chicken was the best we ever cooked, but it didn’t score well. We did have a 4th place pork call, 12th place ribs, and finished 2nd in people’s choice. I would agree with the judges on the brisket. 🙂 Undoubtedly the highlight of the weekend was the tremendous honor of sharing the hope of Jesus Christ and being asked to pray in memory of a fellow competitor. Please be in prayer for Justin as he has lost his brother. Congratulations to Lone Star Smoke rangers on your GC and Shiggin Ain’t Easy on your RGC. Guess this means we will be cleaning up the smoker and tuning up the snow blower a lot sooner than we want to. 😂😂😂 Thankful for the opportunity to compete to make ourself better, and for the privilege of loving on people with great food for the honor and glory of God!!!

Excited about Higher Ground Baptist Youth Camp beginning Monday!!! Smoked some pork and turkey today for the campers. The turkey turned out beautiful!!! Praying for a great week!!! GOD CAN!!!

God has been soooo good to us!!! As a means of outreach for Harvest Baptist Church, we entered Cooking On Kampeska five years ago this week, and we had to have a name. It was then we came up with Cross Cut BBQ. The next summer we entered the SD BBQ Championships not because we thought we were good, but we wanted to be and be our best for the Lord. We would never have dreamed how God would have allowed Cross Cut BBQ to feed thousands of meals in disaster relief, and assist numerous churches in reaching their communities. Thank you for being on this journey with us, and for your prayers and support as we endeavor to live on people through this ministry. Yes, we still compete a few times a year, but our main goal is ministry and loving people through the local church ministries we have the privilege of assisting.

Had a wonderful time at the SD BBQ Championships. We did our first KCBS competition there four years ago. Our goal was to be better, and be the best we could be for the Lord, and I believe He has allowed us to do that. We had a solid cook landing a 4th place chicken call (best chicken we have ever cooked), and ended up 8th overall out of some world class teams. Thankful for my wife and daughter being great help!!! Was a blessing to see some of our BBQ friends!!!
