Oleson Cattle Pups

Call Directions

Oleson Cattle Pups cattle pups raised by working parents. Disposition+, good with kids for farm family pets. There when you need them to watch the gate or herd the cattle.

We have been raising working pups since 2001. We run cow/calf pairs, my husband works in town so I need good dogs to help watch gates and move cattle. I do most of the cattle work with just me and my dogs. I am not a professional trainer. I teach them the basics the rest is very good instincts. We also like them to be good family dogs. When they’re not working they’re playing fetch or joining us at the lake for a swim. Parents are all easy going and friendly. When my kids were young they were showing the parents in 4-H.

I have sad news to share:
Oleson Cattle Pups has come to an end for now.

We had a successful match between Rebel and Reno which produced a cute little male puppy born on July 22.
Concerned that there was only one born we made a trip to the vet to be sure everything was okay with Rebel. We came home with a clean bill of health.
Unfortunately 3 weeks later Rebel suddenly became deathly ill and despite our best efforts, she passed away 12 hours later.

We have no plans of getting a new female and are just going to enjoy our last puppy who is doing well.

UPDATE:

Although we were excited for this accidental litter Mother Nature decided it wasn’t meant to be. 😢 Pepper gave birth to a litter of stillborns on Sunday August 6.
At 12 years old it’s probably best she stay retired from the momma dog job anyway.
We had the vet check her over and was assured she is in good health with no complications due to the loss of her pups. We are happy for this! It’s sad enough to lose the puppies but would have been even worse if something happened to our Pepper.

Looks like Cash and Pepper will be proud parents soon!
Should be here around the first of August.
