YOUR THANKSGIVING TURKEY WAS BRED TO GROW SO BIG, IT CAN BARELY DO WHAT A TURKEY IS SUPPOSED TO DO.

Read that again.

The broad-breasted white turkeys raised for mass production have been selectively bred to grow enormous amounts of breast meat in a short amount of time. In some cases, their bodies grow so disproportionately that mating naturally becomes difficult or impossible.

That's the bird you're buying for Thanksgiving.

But here's the part I really want you to think about.

Why have we accepted a food system built around producing more meat, faster and cheaper, without asking more questions about how our food is raised?

Meanwhile, a farm just down the road is raising turkeys.

Starting tomorrow morning, you can preorder your Thanksgiving turkey from a local farm: Creekwater Farm, Breezy Creek Acres, and Hoeft Homestead! 🦃

We have two options available.

Frozen turkeys
We expect to have approximately 18–20 frozen turkeys available. These will be butchered the second week of November and delivered frozen on Wednesday, November 18th.

Fresh, never-frozen turkeys
We expect to have approximately 7 turkeys that will be butchered the week of Thanksgiving and delivered fresh on Wednesday, November 25th.

To reserve your turkey:

• Go to our shopping site tomorrow morning and search “turkey.” Select your preferred approximate size and farmer when placing your preorder.

• A $40 deposit is required to reserve your turkey, plus the $12 delivery fee, both paid upfront.

• We will do our best to accommodate your requested size and farmer, but because turkey availability and final weights can vary, we cannot guarantee either. Your turkey may come from a different farmer or be a different size than requested.

• Once the turkeys have been butchered and the final weight is known, you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance, which must be paid before delivery.

We have a limited number available, so if you'd like a turkey from a local farm this Thanksgiving, be sure to preorder!

🍁Fall on the farm is our favorite time of year! Air is crisp and animals love the temps. This does mean our growing season is coming to an end. We have good stock, but recommend stocking up to ensure you get the variety you want!
