Well, THIS was a surprise! 🍼
Long story short, Wigglytuff got her show career cut short because she was bred by mistake! 😳 At some point, when we had bunnies out in the playpens - Wigglytuff and Pibbles - both black does - got put back in each other's cages. I noticed a couple weeks ago and swapped them back. Apparently, they had been in the wrong cages longer than I had thought. Pibbles was supposed to be bred to Bunzilla, but Wigglytuff was bred in her place by mistake - and poor girl has been showing her whole pregnancy! OOPS!
Last night, I noticed Wiggly acting very frantic...I thought back to the accidental cage swap (which I thought was for only a couple of random days) and was like hmmm nooooo way. But, yesssss way! So, I rushed and got her a nest box and she immediately made a nest and gave birth to 3 healthy kits! Two days overdue, while Pibbles never actually got bred! 🙈🫠
Thankfully, Wigglytuff and Bunzilla do make a nice pair, even though we weren't planning on breeding this 5 month old doe the boys were showing. She did earn 3 junior legs at least LOL..darn for no senior leg! The mama dewlap DQ has arrived!
