We made it to Boston and I couldn’t be happier to be back in the city. This place has such rich history and culture. Not to mention the food- how can we not talk about the food? But what makes it so incredible, is the children’s hospital. If I won the lottery, I would move here in a heartbeat just so Halo has the life she deserves and the care she deserves.

A year ago, I was told that I would never amount to anything. That I was crazy, that I would lose my children and fall flat on my face. Those were the words verbatim. And yet somehow, I not only survived but I flourished. Maybe it was maternal instinct or maybe I just like to prove stinky men wrong. But I have had primary physical custody of my daughter for a year now, I advocated for her on two major news outlets, I got a job and was promoted within 6 months, completely paid off my student loans and bought my own car. So you can say what you want about me but you can never say that I failed.

For a majority of my life, I only posted photos if they were filtered. Every photo I uploaded, had some sort of editing done to it. I started to really appreciate the things that made me insecure like the texture of my skin, my freckles and my nose. Aging is a blessing. This has been such a rough week for Halo. I had anticipated on being discharged today but her body is still recovering from the virus. She still has a wet cough, she has lost signifant weight, her hair is tangled and her bruised chest is yellow and fading. I feel helpless. I tried opening my laptop and responding to emails but the alarms kept chirping from her oxygen dipping below 89. I am my daughters only provider. But I can’t provide for her when she is like this. And that sucks. I wish I wasn’t always in survival mode.

I am so incredibly thankful for all of the prayers and comments. It means so much to me that she is thought of and supported by the community. Thank you. 🤍
