A little bit of info on the dog program on our ranch. 90 percent of the blood, sweat and tears put into this program is done by our 8 year old. She feeds, cleans, bathes and loves these dogs like they are family. Which truthfully they are. Puppies are raised with a ton of interaction and socialization. They are dewormed regularly, they never leave here without their first vaccines and sometimes even their second round. When appropriate their tails are docked and we can dock tails at customers request if we know early enough . Typically we need to know within 2-3 days of birth to dock tails. We do not raise huge amounts of puppies due to the personal nature of our program. It’s very hands on and we like it that way. We have from time to time the following :
Toy aussie
Mini/toy heeler
Border collie.
We try to only make thoughtful educated decisions when breeding. For instance we have a border collie female with a very high drive work ethic that we chose to cross on our mini Aussie male. Thinking it would be a more laid back and compact cross - which it turned out amazing and the puppies were AWESOME.
In the future we will have a toy size purebred heeler female that I intend to cross on our mini heeler male. This fall we should also have some rat terrier puppies.
The reason for the rat terrier is we cannot keep barn cats around due to owls and hawks so we invested in rat terriers for mouse control. You would not believe the awesomeness those rat terriers provide in rodent control ! Plus they are just nice dogs for even just family dogs. We love them. So keep that in mind.
Picture for attention of our super cute toy size aussie male. We kept him out of the last batch of puppies out of our super tiny mama. At some point we might breed him but not a this time.
