Busy day of "ruining some perfectly good farmland" here, as I heard one farmer once put it, by planting new trees into shadeless pastures using the "overpass" system perfected by our friends at Trees for Graziers where the grow tubes are electrified on the outside to protect the vulnerable young hardwoods inside from both deer and livestock alike.

These silvopasture plantings are part of inaugural research & demonstration trials at a number of local grazing farms, led by the agroforestry folks at SUNY ESF and Upper Susquehanna Coalition . Here's to shadier pastures and more comfy cows!

Congratulations to our friends at Sipe Angus for their successful "Aberdeen Angus Revival" sale today! We look forward to some new arrivals here in the coming days.

Our venture into the world of straight Wye females started back in the days of fuzzy, low-res digital pictures with some Sipe gals like Candice below who set a new standard for the "maternal wedge". Those original cows are prevalent in many of our pedigrees and for good reason: they and their offspring have worked.

One example is this young bull Corris (Candice is his great granddam) who has spent the past few months with some fancy Sipe-prefixed heifers from last year's Revival.
