🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌎
🐮 Like most dairy farms, we take our responsibility to nurture the land we care for seriously, so it continues to thrive and provide for the generations to come. A few practices include:
🌱 Rotating our crops and utilizing cover crops where we can.
💩 Storing manure from our cows, then spreading it on our fields to provide nutrient rich natural fertilizer.
💦 Reusing water.
🥃 Feeding byproducts (such as distiller grains) that otherwise may go unused.

AND….
☀️ Soon, we will have some exciting new additions on the farm to impact our environmental stewardship even more. Stay tuned!

🌼 Most people notice their perennial flowers starting to peek out of the ground as the temps rise!
🪨 But farmers notice all sorts of rocks (that weren’t visible last year) start popping up!

These USD OT graduate school friends came home with Sawyer this weekend and got a glimpse of calf feeding and milking. 😉😊.
