Wafel Straat Welcome to Wafel Straat! We strive to make the perfect Liege waffle. These are Street Waffles. A sweet treat dusted with powder sugar.

Come try our unique waffle experience located at the Waukesha Farmers Market seasonally and year-round at The Steaming Cup downtown Waukesha!☕️🧇 Made in a region of Liege Belgium, these are balls of dough raised for hours infused with pearl sugar that caramelize when we press them.

The #1 question we get asked is, “do you have toppings?” We don’t, and there’s a reason for that!

Originating from the Wallonia region of Belgium, Liège waffles are made from a dense brioche dough rather than the liquid batter you might picture when you think of a breakfast waffle. Inside each dough ball is the sweet star of the show, pearl sugar! The sugar caramelizes during the baking process, giving our waffles a chewy, sticky, sweet and crunchy bite. Topped with powdered sugar for a bit of extra sweetness, you won’t feel the need for any extra toppings. Don’t believe us? Come try one at the first Waukesha Farmers Market on May 2nd from 8am-12pm.
