Trailing cattle along the Great Western Cattle Trail today. Always thankful for the history that has been shared about what is right in our backyard.

The Western trail hit its peak in the 1880s-90s as cattle moved from South Texas north to Dodge and Ogallala. The cows today pictured are taking the cut where the trail headed west to the Stinking Water.

Where are flag pole stands today in the yard is the location of the trading post where many stopped (later the Blanche post office) on the North side of the creek. There was quite an extensive spring box on the south side that had a system made to pump water over to the north.

In the spring you can see exactly where the wagon tracks were, gorgeous place to graze cattle.

A little thunder a lot of clouds and a nice shower made the morning a good one. We are pushing hard the next few days to get through weaning.

This summer has flown by. The night before we shipped the youngest off to Oklahoma Lazy LD Photography slipped down and started doing her magic by snapping some filler pics for our 30th Anniversary bull sale catalog!

The photos are great, but the night was so enjoyable! Jayme spent some time watching Miss H while her momma took some amazing photos. Thanks Lauren I needed the distraction and we love the pics! Here are some of my favorites

Today was our second trip to the TransOva satellite clinic in Holbrook. Super stoked about the number of oocytes from the 5 donors. We will find out how many were viable and able to freeze next week.

Embryo work is new to us. But the passion for good genetics is not. Marvin was adamant about staying progressive in this business, we hope he is giving us a little smile from above with the new adventure.

Our first donor group let us freeze embryos sired by OMF Epic and SO Remedy on Stunner sired mammas. Hoping today’s efforts will let us freeze embryos out of MR HOC. Broker and SAV Recharge🤞

6 solid weeks of inserting, shots, and pulling. Time to finish up this season in two weeks

The end of May usually sees us emptying heifer pens. It will be different this year.

Thankful for a little bit of green, and a little bit of moisture. It will take quite a bit more to be able for all of our customers as well as us to have grass to turn out on.
