Sit down and let me tell you a little story.

Tonight after work, Rick and I went out to celebrate his birthday a week late.

To our complete shock, we had 3 people come up to chat about our A Hand with Lunch donation program we’re running.

They saw it online.

And were just so appreciative we’re doing something like this.

I have to be honest, I was caught off guard.

One wanted to know how to give, another handed me this donation.

They walked away and I cried. I told Rick I needed to go behind the tree and ugly cry to let it all out.

I just couldn’t believe the generosity of a complete stranger.

We haven’t even officially kicked this off and we’re already at $200!

We put the bucket on the counter and people are already giving yesterday and today.

The kindness and pure, honest hearts of people, is going to be the death of this soft hearted girl.

So yes you’ll likely see me crying a whole lot more and I have no apologies about that 😍

I picture the little girl who was embarrassed for having the different lunch ticket than her friends and I wish I could go back and grab her hand and tell her it’ll all work out.

Even better than you ever expected.

Helping kids and parents out is what this is all about and

You are all what is going to make this donation program a success.

Gosh I appreciate all of you!

We’ve been working on something behind the scenes that we’re finally ready to share ❤️and I’m so excited!!

✨ A HAND WITH LUNCH ✨

Growing up as one of four kids, our family used the reduced lunch program. I remember how something so simple could make a kid feel different — and that stuck with me.

So I got to thinking…now that I’m a whole
grown-a$$ adult running a business, could we do something about helping kids in that same situation ?

So I reached out to the Waupaca School District and learned they carry roughly $8,500 in outstanding student meal balances each year.

I asked if Barnwood could help.

They said yes. ❤️

✨Beginning September 1, we’ll be collecting donations to help pay down those balances.

📚 Add $1, $5 or more at the counter, scan our QR code, or toss something in the cash jar.

Every dollar collected goes directly toward outstanding student meal balances.

I will be making a monthly or quarterly donation to the School and will share with you all what was donated 😍

No names and certainly no judgment.

Just trying to be helpful stewards in our community. ❤️

🍰 Brianna from Breezy Bakes will be popping up outside Barnwood this Sunday from 10–noon with her adorable individual mini cakes and cakesicles!!
