Glads might officially be on my “grow every year” list. 🌸💕
And I definitely didn’t expect this beauty to pop up! Almost all of my glads have been red this year, with one random purple sprinkled in… and then suddenly this gorgeous blush pink, buttery yellow and creamy little “pink lemonade” beauty decided to make an appearance. 🍋🌸 I’m not mad about it!
I planted my glads mostly for cutting, and they’ve quickly become one of my favorites for bouquets. They add so much height and personality—and apparently a few surprises, too. 😂
Fun fact: Glads actually grow from corms, not true bulbs! Here in Wisconsin, they need a little help surviving our winters. After frost takes the foliage, you can dig up the corms, cure them, and store them somewhere cool and dry for winter, then replant them in the spring. 🌱 They’ll even produce little baby corms called cormels, so your collection can keep growing!
I’m already thinking I need way more next year. Because apparently growing flowers is just planting a few and then deciding you need every color. 😂🌸💛
