Harvesting radishes and snakes in the high tunnel tonight. Sadly Hognose eat frogs, but they do also eat mice sometimes so we're keeping her around.

Up next on the planting list: onions and shallots. Were also reseeding some of those aforementioned brassicas due to hard freeze damage- predicted temps of 36 turned into 32 and a freeze in the low spot and we did not protect them as we should have. Lesson learned. It's wisconsin weather- prepare for the unexpected.

Good info for market customers!
🫜 The first market is May 16!
🥬 It's in a new location this year on Union St! (Where we've moved to in the past during Art Fair weekend).
🥔 We will for sure have spinach, radishes, rhubarb, and asparagus (market share members get first dibs- watch for preorder email starting this weekend!).

First round of brassicas are in the ground outside! We'll have all your faves in no time: golden cauliflower, dinosaur kale, rainbow kohlrabi, broccolini, weird pointy cabbages, and more!

Checked on the spinach this afternoon- it's looking absolutely stunning! Will be picking this for the first market in a couple weeks. The freezing temps won't bother the spinach, but we are a bit worried about the fruit trees and attempted to cover the Asian pears and some of the apples with lots of blossoms. Hope it helps! Tomatoes and peppers are all tucked in in the greenhouse.

Potting up peppers, getting brassicas and beets ready to plant, mapping out and tilling beds, taking out and putting in t-posts for trellises. We are doing all the necessary preparation for the season. Farm shares are still available! but not for long.
