Sheep shearing 2026 complete!
All of the Shetland sheep were sheared, giving us 21 bags of fleece.

Here are all the steps to turn these bundles of raw wool into yarn to use on your next project!

1. Shear the sheep ✔️
2. Skirt the fleece (picking out all the plant bits)
3. Wash, then wash again, then lay out to dry
4. Card the fleece
5. Spin!

Shetland sheep can withstand cold temperatures and snow thanks to that warm fuzzy wool, even if it's covered in ice crystals! Wisconsin winters have nothing on these sheep!
