Meet the Co-Founder & President:
Cassie McGonagle is the co-founder and President of STEMS Wayland, a sustainable cut-flower business and mentorship program based in Wayland, Massachusetts. She launched STEMS in 2020 alongside friends and the mentorship of , with the goal of creating a space where young women could learn hands-on entrepreneurial skills while working with, and understanding sustainable ways of flower farming. Under Cassie’s leadership, STEMS has grown from an idea to a business with retail space at , located on community. Cassie oversees everything from planting and harvesting to branding, marketing, and community partnerships, all while ensuring STEMS stays rooted in sustainability, creativity, and leadership.
Beyond flowers, Cassie’s true passion lies in empowering the next generation of young women leaders. Through STEMS, she has built a mentorship model where students gain confidence, business skills, and leadership experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.
As a current senior at the , Cassie balances academics with her role at STEMS, continuing to expand its impact on sustainability and women’s empowerment. She envisions STEMS not only as a flower business, but as a movement that inspires environmental responsibility, intergenerational connections, and the power of young women working together to create lasting change.
