Teamwork really is making this dream work.

It’s been hot in SE Iowa the past 2 days, so hot we skipped breeding anything yesterday and have only been breeding overnights and early mornings. I’ve questioned myself and my sanity several times the last 4 days.

Pops as always is my partner in crime, he’s been waiting for me in the driveway every time I pull in. Doesn’t matter if it’s 2am, 10pm or 5am, he’s ready to get after it. He helps scrape lots, get rods ready, hand off seman or supplies as I need them. I’m a lucky kid (yes, I’m still a kid)to have such a dedicated dad.

Frustrating morning…up and at em early to breed gilts before the heat. We tried to separate them in to groups of 3 or 4 (still nose to nose) and they did not like being apart from each other…at all. To the point their anxiety seem to override any of their other senses. We will regroup this evening and try again, Pops and the hubby might be learning to breed today!
