As summer approaches, it is common to hear individuals express their intention to achieve their "bikini body" through exercise, dieting, and similar efforts. At Acqua In Vino, however, we embrace a distinctly different interpretation of a bikini body. We aim to indulge in as many bikini sandwiches as possible before the summer concludes. This evening, during our weekly wine-pairing and pouring event, Arny will be preparing AIV’s refined take on the bikini panini, featuring our Reuben bikini. At this week's pairing from 5-8 p.m. tonight, Arny is set to prepare a somewhat unconventional Italian dish known as Spaghetti Alla Carrettiera, which consists of jarred or canned tomatoes, canned tuna in olive oil, and mushrooms. This recipe originated from the carrettieri, the cart drivers of Italy who, over a century ago, traveled from town to town and city to city, selling various goods that locals might require. To sustain themselves and others during their journeys, they would create simple pasta dishes using the shelf-stable pantry ingredients they likely had stored in their carts. Ultimately, Carrettiera represents the concept of pantry pasta sauce, showcasing the vast potential that resides within our cupboards.

This evening at our weekly wine pairing and pouring event, Arny will be reintroducing his well-loved and delectable Raw Pasta Sauce. Crafted from the freshest ingredients, the taste of this sauce is so remarkable that you will hardly believe it is raw. Additionally, we have expanded our product range in-store following our vendor spring food shows and invite you to explore the new inventory!

We are thrilled about the upcoming Wayland Main Street Summerfest on Saturday, which will feature complimentary activities, vendors, food, and live music. Acqua In Vino will be fully staffed, and with the Wayland Social District in effect, you will have the opportunity to wander through the commons area with your choice of wine, spirits, or craft beer. In our new Piazza di Vino, Scatola di Pasta, will be offering pasta, pizza, and pretzels, while Travelers BBQ will serve BBQ pulled pork, BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken leg quarters, and campfire potatoes. Although the gazebos are not yet fully completed, they will be open for you to relax and enjoy. We look forward to a day filled with enjoyable activities, delicious food, exquisite drinks, live entertainment, and local shopping. We hope to see you!

It’s the first Friday in June! Tonight is bourbon pairing and pouring from 5-8 p.m. This evening, Arny will be preparing Dirty Martini Pasta, an olive-lover’s pasta dish that takes the exact flavor profile of a dirty martini and turns it into a rich, tangy dinner. It features spaghetti tossed in a glossy sauce made of green olives, olive brine, lemon zest, garlic, and a splash of gin or vodka. Scatola Di Pasta will be open tonight AND tomorrow afternoon during the local yard sale days. We look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Join us tonight as we introduce a new “mixer” that has just arrived at the store. Aloevine is a popular line of ready-to-drink aloe vera beverages crafted with fresh aloe vera gel pulp and natural fruit flavors. We will be mixing the watermelon flavor with a dry rosé and the mango flavor with a semi-dry Pinot Grigio. Also, new to Scatola Di Pasta, our food trailer menu now includes hot soft pretzels and pretzel bites served with nacho cheese. Highly rated for their fluffy, doughy insides and classic, chewy crust, they’re plush, buttery, and perfectly salted. Come try them tonight! We’re tasting from 5-8 p.m.

As we approach Memorial Day, it’s good to remember what the holiday is truly about. Yes, we should celebrate life, enjoy barbeques, get out on the lake, go shopping with family and friends, etc. But as Americans, we get to enjoy these fun days only because of those who have sacrificed for our right to do it. If you need a fun activity this weekend with family or friends, join us tonight from 5-8 p.m. for our weekly wine pairing and pouring. We'll serve three wines with food pairings picked especially for you all at an affordable price. On this Memorial Day, we celebrate the dedication of the citizens who have given their lives in the service of our country. This weekend, we celebrate Mother’s Day, created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 to honor her own mother. She organized the first Mother's Day service of worship and celebration in West Virginia, her home state. In 1914, Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother's Day, held on the second Sunday in May, as an official U.S. national holiday. Over 40 countries also celebrate Moms, often in March or May, with traditions varying worldwide. We have many items to choose from for Mother's Day and can make a special basket just for her. At our Friday night pairing, Arny will be preparing spicy pasta with broccoli. We are going through our distributor wine recommendations and look forward to your input. Happy May 1st! It’s also the 1st Friday of the month, where you have the option to pair bourbons instead of wine at our weekly wine pairing and pouring. May Day and bourbon frequently intersect, largely because the first weekend of May marks the Kentucky Derby, the most famous horse race in the world. Bourbon is the official and traditional spirit of the event, most notably featured in the Mint Julep. You must stop in and see all the changes we are making to our outside Piazza Di Vino. This has been a busy week, and we’d like you to see our progress. Join Acqua In Vino and Scatola Di Pasta tonight from 5-8 p.m.
