Happy Memorial Day to everyone!
While we are taking time to honor those who have lost their lives protecting our freedom, I also wanted to say thank you and do a quick introduction!
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our little farm stand on its opening weekend, anyone who shared our posts and to everyone who is just joining us and following along! We were almost completely sold out, with the exception of a loaf of sourdough and a couple little sweat treats, and honestly my husband and kids couldn’t be happier about taking on the responsibility to finish those up!
I guess a little introduction is due because there are so many new faces here and it isn’t just close friends and family anymore - but I do wish that soon you’ll feel like close friends, too.
My name is Kait and I am the one who you’ve been interacting with and seeing out at the farm stand when you stopped by this weekend! My husband, Vince is the builder and is the one who is in charge of fixing anything and building whatever blueprint I send him! We have 4 kiddos, seven and under, and while that’s enough to keep anyone busy, we decided to buy a little bit of property and start our dream of a homestead 3 years ago. While we’ve got to keep is pretty simple with just over an acre, it has been a learning experience, since neither of us come from a farming background.
Outside of the homestead part of Simple Acre Farm- feeding and nourishing my family is one of the biggest ways I feel like I’m serving them. It’s one of the ways that I feel creates a community and builds relationships. It’s a way that I can constantly show up for someone. I’ll be the first to offer a meal during a hard season for someone or send you off with a tray of baked goods as a thank you! So, the bakery side of the farm stand is my way of loving on all of you and hopefully growing a little community, because what I am baking for you is exactly how and what I am baking for my own family! I’m so excited that you are all here and I can’t wait to keep growing and sharing a little bit of love with this community!
