It's an anniversary for our tasting room boys!! 📆

John started at CWC one year ago today, after being a barfly and inaugural Common Culture Club member. He is a hospitality veteran with a keen eye for design.

On his very first training shift, while I was occupied wrapping up a few tastings, John confidently greeted some new guests solo.

Jake (and his fantastic wife Aly) were visiting for the first time, and enjoying getting to know Virginia wines on the weekends. Jake wanted reds, Aly wanted whites, and anyone who knows John will not be surprised that he wouldn't let them leave without trying Mise, our petit manseng orange wine.

They were hooked. Both by the wine and by John's personable nature. Jake & Aly returned the following week to join the Common Culture club. We began seeing them weekly. After getting to know our wines and some of our makers at Wine Over Waynesboro, Jake started (politely) hounding me for a job.

Jake joined the tasting room team in November, and has been rocking Sundays ever since.

Both John & Jake have a knack for making strangers into regulars, pouring up delightful flights, and nerding out about music. I am really grateful to have their hospitable spirits behind the bar (and as part of the club!). It's delightful to see them grow in their roles as wine professionals, and we hope you enjoy getting to know our staff as much as I have.

Come hang out on the weekends and catch John, Jake, and the rest of our fantastic team. We'd like to get to know you!

Not sure about y'all but we've been having a fun summer!

Harvest is starting at an unprecedented early date, so there's lots of action around the winery nowadays.
