This year I added Hickory King, a white non gmo heirloom variety. I already had the Jimmy Red and Blue Clarage, so it just made sense to make it complete with a white corn that will make good meal. You can’t get a more patriotic lineup than this.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I know sunflowers grow by following the sun and then resetting back facing the east and waiting on the sun to rise again. When their head gets heavy and their flowering stage is over, most will be bowing toward the east. I like to think there’s more to that facing east than just a life cycle.

Boy it’s been a good dry week for all the farmers in this area! Everybody trying to get all the hay up they can, cutting wheat, planting soybeans, laying corn by, gardeners trying to get down the middles one more time before their plants are too big, it’s been a great week for all of it. I’ve had some good help and because of that , got the bean ground run over with a roller harrow, gmo corn sprayed , finish plowing non gmo corn, and finished planting soybeans today. Hopefully will get a little rain soon. A man is really blessed to get to tend a farm with running water on it and green river is one of the prettiest in Wayne Co.

If you’ve ordered some cornmeal from us and I haven’t contacted you yet, just be patient. I’ve got the opposite of a big commercial operation, but it does a good job- just slow. I’m still not sure if I’ll have enough Jimmy Red to go around and I’m about out of the Blue Clarage. Both of those make blue cornbread, but Blue Clarage is more blue. I’ve got some yellow Jarvis also that I’ll be milling soon. It’ll taste the same , just won’t be blue. As I get it milled, I’ll keep going down the list and will contact you.
