True story!
When I was in first grade, it was almost Thanksgiving and I reminded Mrs Hattie that I had to wear a “pilgrims costume” to school that day.
Well, Mrs Hattie did her best to cobble together something black and white to resemble appropriate pilgrim wear and off to school we go - I was proud as a peacock….

Only to find out I was a week early and the only pilgrim in school that day 🤷‍♀️

We’ll gather outdoors around the table, share a meal, and learn about the First Thanksgiving and its place in U.S. history—all while experiencing a little taste of life from the 1600s!
Students will enjoy a sampling of foods inspired by what may have been found at an early Thanksgiving gathering, including corn and wild game, along with other period-inspired foods.

Join us at the farm!

Something special is happening around the table this September. 🤎

Our very own Founder & Executive Director, Lashawndra Robinson, will be the Guest Chef for The Wisdom of Food Farm-to-Table Dining Experience at Scott Family Farm.

And this dinner is especially meaningful to us.

A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit Black Farm Street Inc and support the work we continue to do through agriculture, education, food access, and community.

Before there was Black Farm Street, there was a chef.

Then came the farm.

What began as a journey into agriculture grew into a mission to cultivate food systems that empower, educate, and strengthen communities. Now, those worlds are meeting at the table.

Guests will enjoy a seasonal four-course farm-to-table dining experience prepared by Chef Lashawndra “Chef Shawn” Robinson, a wellness conversation with Dr. Priya Deshpande, and live music by Garden City Jazz, Augusta Ga.

And it just so happens that we’ll be celebrating our Executive Director’s 40th birthday with purpose along the way. 🥳

We would love to see our Black Farm Street family, partners, supporters, farmers, volunteers, and community at the table.

Come enjoy an evening rooted in good food, agriculture, wellness, community, and purpose.
