Yesterday, 5/27/26, on NPR’s Marketplace, there was a segment about a lack of sheep. Apparently there is a movement toward wool because it is ethical, environmentally friendly, and contains no microplastics. There are not enough sheep in the world to meet the demand, and only 4 mills in the US that can process wool from start to finish. No mention of alpacas - but if there is a movement TOWARD WOOL, alpacas need to be included. THIS is what I want AOA to be focused on - how do we get our fleece to market? Not shows, though they have their place in the industry. Not percentage registries. I think if AOA helped us with a terminal market membership problems would go away.

Yes, we have socks! We are closed tomorrow, 12/20 for a family event and reopen Sunday at 1:00. We close for Christmas at 1:00 on 12/24.

Sugar Hollow Farm Alpacas is pleased to participate in the Art Walk this year! The farm will be open - come and meet alpacas, shop in the Sugar Shack, and watch demonstrations of some of the ways the beautiful alpaca fleece is used
