Did some furniture rearranging (haha). Moved a bench from around back that we had mainly for kids to the front area and daddy added a side bench to make it easier for the old ladies 😊. Star is enjoying the nice shade underneath.

I'm back to adding some Lespedeza pellets to the goat's feed regime to help reduce worm load this time of year. I will do this for about 8 weeks, no longer, and then again next spring.

Sweet Pea is the only goat I have with a precocious udder which means she has produced milk without being bred (it's a hormonal thing). Sweet Pea has never been bred...apparently most precocious udders happen to higher producing milking goats that have not been bred. I've had to milk her out twice now within a couple of years. I try to avoid milking her unless her udder is just too full (or potential issues) because I don't want her to keep filling up. Sweet Pea's momma, Annie (who has since passed), was a tremendous milker!

Although it's September, we've been in a heat wave in the high 90's all week with relief coming this weekend...woo hoo! It's been hard on the dogs and goaties (especially the seniors). Trying to keep things cool in the barn and offering lots of fresh water. The dogs have been enjoying their ice cream treats 😁.
