We're growing! We got 2 new hives and made our first split! It was surpising how much honey we got for first year bee keepers. 45 pounds!!! 🐝🍯

The bees are LOVING our squash plants! It looks like some are bringing in bright yellow pollen from them!

We had family over to celebrate Father's day yesterday. We brought out a frame of honey and had our granddaughter help uncap the honey. It was her first time being involved in this. We sent her home with her own jar of honey, eggs from our chickens. and soaps that I had made. It was fun day!

One good thing about our hive inspection last weekend...the one that resulted in an emergency hive split. We actually had one frame of excess honey that we could take from the bees.

Here's our very first jar of honey. We also got a few small, sample, jars of honey that we are sharing with family, friends and neighbors.

I just finished this blueberry, lavender, chamomile soap with some of our beeswax, of course! I'll hopefully cut it tomorrow!
