So I guess my visitors are here to stay. What should I name them. FYI, I am not encouraging the barn guest expansion. But I’m not turning anyone hungry away either. 😉

Went to say goodnight to the goats and Rosie the horse and saw a mouse out of the corner of my eye. It was almost trampled. Then I realized it was a kitty. I’m sure mama cat was out hunting but I can’t just leave him. So off to the house he comes. Ugh.

Gemma is the first cat I’ve ever seen with FIP. She is a sweet stray that has been living in my barn. I spent several hundreds getting bloodwork, X-rays, antibiotics and steroids. I do not have the money for the FIP medication. For 5 weeks Gemma was doing better, but today she had a seizure and seems to be going down fast. Anyone figured out a way to get the meds without being rich. I have a GoFundMe but not really working. Help!

Gemma is a young barn cat who has quickly become part of my family. She was diagnosed with FIP, a disease that is almost always terminal without a costly antiviral treatment. I’ve been doing everything I can to care for her—providing intensive supportive care, feeding her, and making sure she’s as comfortable as possible. But today, Gemma had a seizure, and I can see that my efforts aren’t enough. She’s starting to fail, and I am heartbroken that money is the only thing standing in the way of saving her life.

All donations will be used for Gemma’s medical treatment at West Central Vet Services in Veedersburg, Indiana. The medication she needs is expensive and requires a lengthy course, and I simply can’t afford it on my own. I will post vet bills and updates so everyone can follow Gemma’s journey and see exactly how their support is making a difference. Time is critical—she can only hang on for so long, and every day counts.

Gemma is a sweet soul who doesn’t understand what’s happening to her, but she’s trying so hard to live. She wobbles and falls as she walks, but she’s beginning to trust me and lets me care for her several times a day. Her twin sister, too fearful to come inside, cries for her outside the window. If help doesn’t come soon, Gemma will die. But with your support, I can start her treatment and give her a chance to return to chasing butterflies and living the life she deserves. Please consider donating—any amount will help give Gemma hope.
