We spend a lot of time with our baby goats to make them friendly for future farms.

So Rocky and I did a thing last night... We took on a longhorn bottle baby calf that needed some help. We are only fostering her for now until we know she is in the clear and thriving. Everyone meet Linda.

Life is busy and hard at times and sometimes you just need a friend to remind you to slow down and try to reset. It's been a while since I have stepped away, unplugged and slowed down to enjoy nature on the farm. Much needed.

Winter wonderland in Weatherford. That is 2 inches of sleet/ice folks. All the animals are going well. We are thankful to not have a repeat of 2021 & to have power this time. Stay warm and safe out there y'all!!

An important part of having goats is hoof maintenance. We trim them every 8 weeks or so to make sure they are sound. My farrier with Triple S Ranch came out yesterday and caught the infamous fainting goat on video. As you can see they don't actually faint but do stiffen where it temporarily can make them stiffen and sometimes fall. Here's the thing about friendly baby goats, they are like toddlers. Cute, funny, lovable, get into everything & not very good helpers🤣 but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Whew what an evening: 11 CDT vaccines given, 44 hooves trimmed, internal/external parasite treatments given with lots of snuggles, kisses and a few laughs. Feed, sleep, snuggle, play repeat in 4 weeks🙃, then they will be close to being ready for their new homes🥲
