Cat Drikas – Candidate for the Board of Directors
Cat Drikas was born into the rodeo life, not metaphorically, literally. Her mother was still competing and winning in the team roping while pregnant with her. Before Cat ever set foot in an arena, it was already in her blood.
She was raised horseback, raised in competition, and raised understanding what this sport demands: discipline, accountability, and the kind of toughness you don’t fake.
As a teenager, Cat took that foundation onto the road as a member of the Painted Ladies Rodeo Drill Team, performing across the country and representing the western way of life at the highest level, including multiple appearances in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
But Cat didn’t stop at competing or performing.
She built a complete understanding of this industry, competing in reining, studying equine breeding, and mastering event production and marketing. She’s worked behind the chutes and behind the scenes, producing large-scale rodeos and country music events. She knows what it takes to run it, not just ride in it.
And when it comes to this association, she’s already in it.
For the past several years, Cat and her family have been actively involved in the Texas high school rodeo world. Her son Rowdy competed and graduated through the program. Her daughter Miley is currently competing, and her youngest, Mackenzie, is stepping in next. This isn’t a short-term commitment; this is a family rooted in the future of this sport. Cat has supported the association not only as a parent but as a sponsor, investing her time, energy, and resources into the competitors and the program.
And when it comes to showing up for the next generation, she’s already done the work.
Cat served three years on the Brock Football Booster Club Board, helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for youth athletes. She understands responsibility, organization, and what it takes to create real opportunities for kids and families.
This isn’t about adding a name to a board.
This is about bringing in someone who has lived every side of this sport: competitor, performer, producer, parent, sponsor, and leader.
Cat Drikas cares deeply about the future of rodeo and the young athletes coming up in it. She’s not here to sit quiet; she’s here to contribute, to lead, and to help push the North Texas High School Rodeo Association forward with strong ideas, real experience, and a clear focus on the competitors.
