About Julie: Now living in Asheville, but from New Orleans, her music is folky, dreamy, and soulful, marked by her powerful, peculiar vocals, detailed textures, and an instinct for immediate songcraft. Leveller Brewing is looking for an experienced bartender with weekend availability. As a small brewery with a small team, we are looking to fill a bartending position with someone who is passionate about beer and interested in creating a welcoming experience for our customers. Brewery bartending experience is strongly preferred. Duties include: customer service, pouring beer, cleaning behind the bar, taproom and bathrooms, ability to troubleshoot if beer is not pouring well, and ability to work independently. Must be able to work 9 hour shifts and occasionally lift 50 pounds. Opportunities for plugging in to other areas of the business are possible. We keep a fixed schedule, though occasionally ask people to fill in if there is an illness or someone is on vacation. Pay is $12 an hour plus tips, which usually means $22-$35 an hour. We are accepting applications through June 17, with the goal to begin training the third week of June.

Come out next Wednesday for our Ground Sound series, featuring Blake Hornsby and Chandra Shukla! Starts at 7 pm, $10 suggested donation.

Blake Hornsby is an experimental folk musician whose work swirls from sitar ragas to sound collages to solo guitar meditations. Chandra Shukla is an experimental/avant-garde musician whose is grounded in Indian Classical Music from learning tabla and sitar at a young age. This is going to be a good one!

Come listen to the New Quintet, a band that spans Traditional Folk, Ragtime, Old-Time and Early Country music,. Hailing from Chattanooga and featuring Nicholas Edward Williams (of American Songcatcher and Restring Appalchia). Starts at 7pm, $20 suggested donation, all of which goes to the band. Come inside for the music, or sit outside on the patio if you want to chat.
