We currently have 8 adult doe’s on 4C Farms. All but one have some sort of ABGA papers, either percentage or NOA and the last one is an ADGA Lamancha. Never in my entire life did I expect to be moving in this direction. Four have shown, two are home grown girls, one is from ennobled stock on both sides, and the remainder will help build us along the way, all are good steps forward. Oh how we have changed in the last 7 years.

Our kidding season started off a little early this year. December kids were on th menu and Nori and Dot did not disappoint. Nori gave us a phenomenal doe kid (will be retained) and Dot gave us two well built percentage Bucklings. The boys will be available at weaning in March.

Kidding will continue in a month or so with Number 2 and a couple others.

Miss Emmy Louise and her 4 little friends got turned out in the doe pasture with the big girls today. She followed momma Maudie right in the stall tonight. So she got a little milk stand lesson.

Today I want to talk about a hard subject, the dreaded list… It’s my needs vs. wants list. I’m sure I’m not the only one who writes down list after list of my needs and wants that change and evolve almost daily at times. I do have one large running tally that involves all aspects of my life, home and farm. And as I check things off, I notice that sometimes I don’t need things I’ve wrote down. They turn into those “that would be nice” things. And some things on the list move up to the needs or needs now lol. I am ready for some is these get checked off, but it’s okay to make do until I can make it work.

This beautiful little lady gets to call our farm home. She’s our first registered boer, percentage doe. If you know me, you know I like to raise our own and she is the first step to raising our own show goats. Out of some nice, ennobled stock and sweet as pie. Can’t wait to see what she produces for us.
