Join us for A Night of New Rum on Friday, May 8th at 6PM! John and Lorri of Raising Glasses have been our good friends here at BayTowne Wine & Spirits for several years. Not only do they independently bottle fantastic expressions of rum and whisky from around the world, they have significantly increased how many international brands they import and make available to U.S. spirits enthusiasts. They are responsible for importing Bedford Park, Colours of Rum, and now Nobilis, and they distribute such domestic brands as Rumcast Reserve and rum et al. Doing all of this work for the spirits community, they are incredibly prolific, and making such exceptional spirits available has earned them huge respect among those who know. We’re incredibly excited to be hosting them once again for a class, wherein they’ll pour some of these most new and sought-after releases. Still-strength agricole from Nobilis, a high ester single cask Jamaican rum, and unique domestic rums from Louisiana and California will be among the lineup. It’s certain to be a wonderful night of tasting, and we hope that you’ll join us from 6-7:30pm Friday May 8th in the BayTowne seminar room. Registration is 10 dollars, but attendees will receive a 10 dollar discount towards the purchase of any bottle from their portfolio. Sign ups are open for our Spring Cocktail Class! As we finally approach something close to patio weather, we could all do with a nice cocktail! Enter Alex from Hotaling & Co., the folks behind such respected brands as Nikka, Di**le, and Luxardo. On Thursday May 7th, he’ll be leading a cocktail class in our seminar room here at BayTowne Wine & Spirits. Join in a varied educational experience, as he takes us through these high quality spirits themselves and shows them in application with such well-loved drinks as the Old Fashioned, Clover Club, and Espresso Martini. All three will have the distinction of creation with these global spirits, coming from Ireland, Japan, and Italy, and Alex will instruct guests on the techniques of their preparation. A few months ago, we were privileged to bring to market a Rochester-exclusive batch of unaged cane juice rum from Oaxaca. Alambique de Cobre was the first release of unaged pot still distillate from Alambique Serrano, and the Rochester rum community was honored to present this first unaged batch pick from that amazing Mexican producer. Now, Alambique Serrano is releasing the Krassel family’s second batch of this mark, Alambique de Cobre batch two. As this new batch hits the market, we wanted to put the word out there that we still have a few cases of the first batch, the Rochester-exclusive. Once it’s gone, that batch will be a fond memory, so if you need a bottle make sure to stop in or order online soon!

It’s no secret that we love rum here at BayTowne, and we’ve been especially into rums coming from Mexico recently - see Alambique Serrano 👀
But that’s why we were particularly excited to get the new Rums of Mexico from PM Spirits. We take some pride in the fact that we were the first NY retailer to bring in cases of these delicious and diverse expressions. Offering an incomparable sense of place and markedly different profiles, they’re available now on the shelf and our website!
