More free lumber for the win.

I got sick of working on folding tables, so i made a 4x8 table out of some free lumber given to me. Just needs the plywood cover now. So $45 for a work space I'll use for years ain't bad.

Pretty morning. While sometimes I'm jealous of southern beekeepers who are gearing up to start their season in the next few weeks, it's times like this I remind myself that just because it's different up here, doesn't mean it's better or worse.
Yeah we have a longer winter, but that gives us more prep time and we deal with far less shb and moths. Not the worst trade off.

This little kiddo had an idea earlier this week. She wanted to make a candle company... so we did. I helped her with label design and she did research on how to make them and took notes. She has some challenges with ADHD and such so this is a big deal for her. It gave us something to work on together and spend time together as well. Being a step-parent / step-kid isn't easy, so I'm thankful for the bonding time. We'll be selling these to family and in the farm stand if she sticks with it. So whether this was a long term thing, or a one off, I'm proud of her. "Quarter Horse Candles"

The bees are all wrapped up and huddled close for the cold northern winter, but that doesn't mean the bee keepers' work is done. I have equipment to assemble, and soon enough will be maple season again. I need to get a makeshift cooking station set up for my maple pan. And secretly... I've been working on something new... info to come, promise.
