Yesterday was definitely one of the harder days at the ranch. After 10 years, we had to say good bye to Erdas, the face of the herd. What she lacked in build, the old girl made up for in patience and personality. The last of the original herd and the sweetest of the girls. She will be sorely missed and the pasture will feel that much more empty without her.

You know, everybody tells you of what you will and won't miss when you graduate. What nobody warns the show kids about is what it feels like to watch your herd get older and smaller. Yesterday we let another one of the old girls go. We will no longer have Twix the adoptive momma and kid thief. Thank you Dr. Halie Isaacson for all your help and taking care of her at the end.

Finally got some soap done with the help of some furry friends. 8 batches, including Cracker Cowman, Aloe, Lavender Teatree, Grease Monkey, and a limited amount of Bottom of the Barrel. I'm so glad the processing house smells like soap again. For my history people, these batches will be going with me to Pellicer Creek Raid.

For those following Little Bits medical journey, we had another good update yesterday. So long as the splint stays clean, she can have her next set of X-rays in 3 weeks instead of 2. The improvement from week 1 (first 2 pictures) to this week (last 2 pictures) is amazing.

Update on the littlest one. Her 3 week visit was yesterday and she got an updated set of x-rays. Her leg is starting to heal so there is some more hope of her keeping the leg (still a long way to go). Dr. Sparling was also kind enough to change her splint while she was at the clinic.

I was unable to get pictures due to a busy work schedule but the littlest came in to the office for her recheck x-rays today. She appears to be healing well but only time will tell what the final results will be. For now, more time in the splint.

Some days just don't go as planned. What was supposed to be a day of hanging out with friends at the Florida Cracker Cow and Horse Sale quickly turned to an emergency trip to the vets office. We got home last night to find that the littlest one was not using her back leg and it appeared off. X-rays today showed a pretty severe break at the hock. A few hours later and the baby is splinted and in isolation. Now all that's left to do is wait and hope it heals.

I'm back out once again. The Bushnell Fall Festival just kicked off in the town square. I'm out with soaps, shaving bars, scrubs, and now mugs. There is even a new variety making its debut today. I have already spotted Bee Good Honey among the plethora of other vendors and and eager to see who else is here. If your looking for some entertainment on a Saturday, come hang out for a while.

Proof I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. As usual, I stumbled my way back into the busy season (along with a few further set backs). However, soap has returned! What started as 3 batches quickly turned to "well what's one more" and down the rabbit trail to 6 batches all made up for the Bushnell Fall Festival in a few weeks. Among these are Cracker Cowman, Bottom of the Barrel, Cinnamon Orange, Coffee, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and a new variety still in the experimental stage. I can't wait to break back out the soap boxes and see some familiar faces.

Woohoo, finally got some batches in. Cracker Cowman, Bottom of the Barrel, Southern Summer, and Oatmeal are all set to be cut tomorrow then 3 weeks of curing ahead. I've missed working in the processing house. I'll try and get some girls scents in this weekend as well.
