One of Maverick's favorite past times is chasing Jim on the farm cart/getting Jim to chase him. He has a LOT of energy and is always wanting to play with Shelby. Especially when she is not in the mood.🫣 So, Jim helps him get some of that energy out in a fun way, which also helps to give Shelby a little break! 😂! This went on for 10 minutes, though I only recorded for about 2.

Today’s Tip:

Plant Pensacola Bahia seed in the middle of March and watch Mother Nature do the rest.
An average cow requires 25-35 lbs of grass per day. That’s a lot of chew! Our 4 cow monsters eat that and then some daily. It’s important to rotate your cattle from pasture to pasture to give the grass time to heal and rebuild. The cows then do their part by dropping their waste right into the grass. We have 3 grass thick pastures here at Beneath The Oaks and I will rotate the cows from pasture to pasture. After moving day I’ll drag a Manure spreader and spread that rich manure back into the soil. The Bahia gets free rich fertilizer and the cycle of growth starts all over again. Work smarter not harder and take care of your pastures and they will in turn take care of your animals that graze in them. ❤️🐄🤠🚜

Being care takers to our two donkeys requires a lot of attention to their needs. Proper food, minerals, water, attention and a dry safe shelter they can run into at any moment. ✅

Maverick and Shelby now have their own shelter to run into. That was a fun build. I added a special feature to the front wall which allows them to hide behind the wall in severe weather while still being able to see out and stay dry.
