The snow in the background is almost melted which means the mud season is back. Good thing we have 4-wheel drive and sturdy animals.
We’re feeding our cattle at a new place this year, rather than the ranch.
The feed ground is more sandy, and on top of a hill rather than at the bottom like the feed ground at the ranch. Better location should keep the cows drier and help the newborn calves thrive.
And the ranch gets a break for a few months.
Small changes each year to do our best for our livestock. As January comes to a close we’re filled with gratitude for nearly making it through another winter with these awesome animals. Cows are resilient critters and we love working with them every day.
