EPISODE 2 — WHY CAN BLOOD SUGAR BECOME HIGH?
Yesterday, we started with an important question:
Are you looking for a way to manage your blood sugar?
Before we talk about what someone can take, let’s first look at some of the everyday factors that may contribute to high blood sugar.
1. DIET
Regularly eating or drinking large amounts of sugary foods, sweetened beverages, and refined carbohydrates can make blood-glucose control more challenging.
2. PHYSICAL INACTIVITY
Your muscles use glucose for energy, so regular physical activity can help your body use insulin more effectively. Even small, consistent changes can make a difference.
3. EXCESS BODY WEIGHT
Excess body fat, especially around the abdomen, is associated with increased insulin resistance.
4. SLEEP AND STRESS
Poor sleep and ongoing stress can affect the hormones involved in blood-glucose regulation. That’s why rest and stress management deserve attention too.
5. GENETICS AND OTHER HEALTH CONDITIONS
Family history matters, and certain medications or medical conditions can also affect blood sugar.
So if your blood sugar is high, don’t only ask:
“WHAT CAN I TAKE?”
Also ask:
“WHAT IS DRIVING THE PROBLEM?”
Because managing blood sugar usually isn’t about finding one magic product.
It’s about understanding the bigger picture and addressing the important factors — while using appropriate medical care when needed.
And now we’re ready for the practical part.
