On Cape Cod, choosing seasonal and locally grown wedding florals means fresher blooms that last longer in the coastal air, flowers at their natural peak instead of ones shipped for weeks, and designs inspired by the dunes, woods, and shoreline that make this place so special.

It also means supporting local growers (Hi! Thank you!) who know this land well, and making a choice that’s gentler on the earth without ever sacrificing beauty.

Let’s design something rooted in this place → seaandsoilwellfleet.com/weddings

Our bride, Hailee, understood the assignment 💅💐
She led with a color palette instead of a flower list—and her florals felt elevated, cohesive, and so her.

Pro tip: having a favorite flower is totally okay, just let the palette do the heavy lifting!

On June 14th last year, Kate and Austin were married in front of friends and family on the sands at Kalmar Village. The beyond beautiful celebration took place on a very blustery day in June. Cape Cod beach weddings can be tricky, because your florals are out in the wide open, battling wind and rain. For us Kate and Austin’s wedding arch was a lesson in the aero dynamics of our floral mechanics. While everything was secure and in place at set up, the wind decided to twist their arbor a bit for the ceremony. Still, this couple looks so happy and so beautiful together!
I had so much fun using local flowers for Kate’s floral vision. Blueberry greens and dianthus were the base foliages, with our seasonal favorite, feverfew, really adding the whimsy. Of course the show stoppers were the blue macrophylla hydrangeas and white peonies. A classic Cape Cod wedding look. We were so honored to work with Kate and Austin and wish the best years to come !

Both the oyster grant and the flower farm are covered in a fresh blanket of snow this New Year’s Day. On Cape Cod snow is especially rare around the holidays. Who else is loving the snow fall in Wellfleet ?

This year was full of growth—personally, professionally, and literally in the fields. A few lessons I’m carrying with me into the next season:

• Clear guidelines matter. With wedding clients (and now a growing team!), expectations are everything. Better boundaries, clearer systems, and stronger structure make the work more joyful for everyone.

• Plant more perennials. I need so many more. Less labor, less fuss, and they bloom right when June desperately needs flowers—what’s not to love?

• Hire the house cleaner. Absolute life saver. Bi-weekly magic that turns chaos into order and gives me mental clarity I didn’t know I was missing.

• Bupleurum & feverfew are actual angels. I suspected it before, but now I know. Airy, wild, hardworking filler flowers that elevate every bouquet.

• I am incredibly lucky. My family—especially my amazing mother-in-law who babysits all summer—makes it possible for me to farm at this scale. Toddlers and flowers don’t always mix 😉 and the love and support around me is something I never take for granted.

Feeling deeply grateful as we close out this year. Wishing you the best for 2026! 🪩

This past May 24th, I had the pleasure of working with Zach and Jackie on their wedding vision. They opened my eyes to what it is like to work with a couple who really have a strong vision!👏👏👏. I loved creating their ceremony arch, full of bridal wreath spirea. My team and I learned how long it actually takes to tie 150 velvet bows, and I got to try my hand at growing something new, pansies and violas. Jackie had the finest details picked out, down to the vintage fabric for her bridal bouquet, and Zach’s boutonniere pin. Jackie and Zach were incredibly collaborative and respectful, and we were so thrilled to bring all the little details to life for their wedding day. They’re such a great team and a happy, beautiful couple. Wishing you both the best years to come ! . 📸: justina guirguis photography 💒: 📒: 👩‍🍳:
