It has begun!

This journey began many years ago when we knew we wanted to get back involved in farm life of some sort. Garrett was raised on a Row Crop/Turkey Farm in Sumter SC and it was not long that itch arose to be involved in ag in some fashion. Lindsey is a reading coach and Garrett is the Owner/President of an Environmental Stormwater Company so time is limited with two children. Garrett decided that goats would be something interesting to get into and it took 3 years of researching different breeds such milk and chees goats, to pygmy goat etc. After a lot of research Garrett settled on Meat Goats. It has been a growing and profitable industry in agriculture over the last 15 + years. So we decided on the Boer Goat and not only the Boer Goat but the Dappled/Painted Boer goat. This genetic flaw so it was called not many years ago has become the hottest selling goat on the market! The challenge and fun is in the breeding with the genetics to attempt to get the coolest unique dappled goat you can get then market them! We wanted to start slow so this is the how we will go about it and then build the meat goat herd as we go along. So the building began. So on many Saturdays over a year he began building the fences. A lot of materials were recycled off of actual jobs they had worked on where demo had been performed and the material was hauled back home. Over the last month the barn was able to be finished after some late nights! With that we got our first fullblooded Dappled Goats Oh My and Sara! Oh yeah and Sara is expecting, bred with a buck who has one of the most saught after fathers in the industry! So please follow us on this journey as I am sure it shall be entertaining!
