Thank you Elise! So so overjoyed how you are developing your crew! ❤️
Thoughts from the kindergarten field… 💙
What a privilege it is to be part of the earliest chapters of a horse’s life.
The first time they lead beside another horse.
The first few trailer rides, baths, farrier appointments…
To have a hand in teaching them so they realize that new doesn’t have to mean scary.
I think those moments are easy to overlook because they seem so ordinary, but they’re anything but.
Every one of those little experiences becomes part of how that horse understands the world and what they expect from the people around them.
The magic isn’t just that they’ll someday become easier to handle or train because of the work we put in now. Often, I won’t still have these young horses who are here in training when they’re all grown up!
The real magic, for me, is that they grow up believing the world is generally a safe place, that people are worth trusting, and learning doesn’t have to be stressful.
I think that’s one of the greatest gifts we can give a young horse. Even the ones who aren’t here to stay, because those lessons can go with them 🩵
