Greg is officially retiring on December 31st after 30+ years in the wine business as a retailer, street sales warrior and leader - with 2 Million actual miles on United alone. All this while raising 2 great daughters, then taking on educating through high school, and becoming legal guardian to our niece and nephew, both of whom are now in top colleges on scholarships. With so many friends and life

long colleagues spread across the world, my hope is that you will share a memory, story or thought on this page which we will share with Greg on 12/31. Please share with his friends and supporters. Thanks so much for being part of this "virtual" send off - he will be so appreciative.

Moving forward:
After 10 years of Country vineyard life, we sold our Nevada Shangri-La & bought our new beach home in Port Hueneme CA. It’s bitter sweet, but we have no regrets. Greg realized his dream of growing/producing world-class award-winning wines at 5200’ -something very few have done. We enjoyed many wonderful times & made great memories while creating a one-of-a-kind property for a new family to love. It has been a complex process, but the right family bought it. After a few months of serious downsizing, we’ll return to our old beach neighborhood, family & friends. Excited to welcome Nevada Friends/winemakers. Love to all -come see us!

Our Story

Planting & cultivating vineyards and making wine at 5400 foot elevation in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, living a lifelong dream after 30 years as a wine importer. Currently at 900 vines and counting, we have had some initial success in bottling award winning wines. The vineyards surround the house and winery, sitting on a bench above the Walker River in Southern Douglas County Nevada, which has never before seen high altitude European grape varieties which have been grown for centuries in Northern Italy and Austria. Vineyards includd: Cynthiana (Native American), Frontenac (Hybrid), Gewurztraminer, Gruner Veltliner, Zweigelt, Riesling. 60 gallons produced in 2018. All this because my wife Susan covertly challenged me to plant “a few” vines after relocating to Northern Nevada from Southern California in 2012. @TheVintageTrailerVineyard was born of Susan’s love for all things vintage and hospitality. We once spent a romatic weekend in a Stone House in the middle of a Napa Valley Vineyard. That distant memory, and the beauty that surrounds the Walker River Estate inspired us to create our own version of a unique and special Vintage Vineyard Getaway. We also do a select and limited number private events, retreats, celebrations and wine tastings.
