If you've noticed water droplets forming on the outside of your water softener or filtration tank during the hot summer months, don't worry—it's usually completely normal!
Just like a cold glass of iced tea "sweats" on a warm day, your water treatment tank can do the same thing. The water inside the tank is much cooler than the warm, humid air around it. When that humid air touches the cool tank surface, moisture in the air condenses into water droplets.
This is called condensation, and it's most common when:

Temperatures are high, humidity levels are elevated, your tank is located in a basement, utility room, or garage.

A sweaty tank does not usually mean there's a leak or a problem with your equipment. However, if you notice standing water around the unit, dripping from plumbing connections, or a sudden increase in water usage, it may be worth having it checked.
