🍄 A humble first harvest from the winecap mushroom spawn that inoculated the mulch in the willow beds with spring. As long as the rain and moisture keep coming, the fall cool down should bring many more mushrooms.This established bed can also serve to start new beds by moving it to fresh mulch.

🍄 Mushrooms in the willows. The white squiggles in the mulch are the mycelium of the winecap mushrooms that were inoculated this spring. They feed on the wood and should be set to produce some mushrooms this fall.

One paddock at a time. Six days between moves is longer than ideal but the sheep are making the right kind of impact and rain is in the forecast for a solid recovery. They managed to take a few bites off all the grass, goldenrod, and most shrubs so it is definitely time to move.

We officially have sheep in the silvopasture 🌳🐑. After some invasive management, over story thinning, and a spring seeding these girls are making the first rotation through this area. Although it is exciting to see them work, it is even more exciting to see how this area recovers post grazing due to the variable conditions of sunlight and vegetation.
