413 Family Farm A carbon farm, turning dirt into soil. We practice regenerative agriculture. The 413 in our name comes from Philippians 4:13.

Just two empty nesters who have learned the secret of being content in any situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. We're a couple of Oklahoma City folk turned Wellston country farmers who are passionate about regenerative farming and healing our soil. We run a no-till operation with rotational grazing and cover crop use to hold the soil in place so all the veget

ation can effectively capture the nutrients they need. Our goal is grow crops on the land to feed the cattle all year long so we no longer have to cut hay to feed them. We strive to give God the glory in all we do and to endeavor not only in our own strength.

A congregation of cattle egrets has taken up residence at the 413. Our cattle seem grateful for the assistance with pest control as we use no artificial chemicals or pesticides in our regenerative practice. Despite the drought, the flies seem abundant this year, and our chickens can’t keep up.

Soil. Where it all begins! We cut down invasive red cedars in mass on our land several years ago and piled them up with intention to burn piles. That never seems to work out for us. But with our new skid steer and the brush cutter we are able to clear out and mulch up the piles that will help put carbon back into the soil, acting as a long-term carbon-rich protective blanket that improves soil health, structure, and water retention. This evening I cleared an area and this video shows the before and after.
