With Jack's illness progressing we haven't been doing anything on the farm for the last 6 years or so. Our youngest son and his wife have moved back to the farm and we are begining to get going again. We have bought 4 goats. Planning on letting them do most of the clean up work and then have babies to sell. The spotted goat is a milk goat so hope to have milk and cheese sometime in the future. Our plans are to get back into chickens, mainly for their eggs but for meat as well, along with rabbits, pigs, ducks, geese and eventually a cow or two. These will all be grass fed the way God intended for these animals to eat. Our goal is to buy or put up as little feed as possible. With impovements to the soil and good pasture management over time this should be possible. Every animal on the farm has a purpose and a job. I hope to be making future postings as this process unfolds.

For those of you that are interested in the leather goods you can email Jack at [email protected]. I'm not very good at this facebook stuff. Emailing is easier. Hi Jason and Kat it's great to hear from you. Hope you get this.

Well it's been a long time since I've posted anything because we are not able to grow veggies any more. Jack has had 3 back surgeries and is now in a power chair when he's not laying down. But we do have a new venture we're working on. We've started working with leather. We make purses, belt, shaving kit bags, dog leashes, rifle scabbards, holsters, knife sheafs, etc. I'll get some pictures of them posted shortly. We sure have missed being at the Farmers Market in Edmond and visiting with all the great folks that stopped by. Maybe sometime we might be able to set up there again on Craft Saturday to sell our leather goods.

We will be at the market place in Edmond, west end of parking lot, this Saturday (Feb. 22nd), from 10:00am - Noon. We'll have lots of yummy eggs.

The greenhouse is rapidly filling up with plants and the little chicks aren't so little any more.

We had rabbit damage last night on one of our newly planted apple trees. We noticed this when we went out to water them today. I had a roll of window screen so we cut it into strips and started wrapping the trees. Had enough to do 8 of the 20. We'll have to get more screen tomorrow.

Apple tree planting party was a GREAT success!! We had 16 in all. The 20 trees were planted in no time. We had a lot of fun visiting and working together. After all the trees were in some of us loaded up in the trailer for a ride back to the house while some chose to walk back. It was windy but soon got warm. It was wonderful to be outside after all the cold dreary days we've had. We passed out homemade snacks to everyone and after a while the party broke up and everyone went on home. We all had such a good time we're gonna plan more event as the season progresses.

It's planting time in the greenhouse. This pic was taken about a week ago. There's now little plants coming up. And as you can see we have 95 new additions to the farm. They should be laying by this June.
