Miniature Herefords are actually full blooded Herefords registered with the American Hereford Association. Their pedigrees trace all the way back to when the Hereford cow first set hoof on American soil in 1817. They are easier to maintain, as they require half the grain and hay as the larger cattle. They also require less area and fencing does not have to be the same as larger cattle. For beef pr

oduction, they have a higher dressing percentage and increased tenderness due to shorter muscle cell structure, genetics and early maturity. Miniature Herefords are Better than standard animals in rib eye area per 100 weight and dressing package. Miniature Herefords are high fertility, early maturing cattle that have very little difficulty calving. Bulls are sexually mature in 1-1.5 year

Heifers are bred to calve at 2-3 years of age
Their calves usually weigh 35-60 pounds. They are a naturally docile animal which makes them excellent for young children for show animals.
