Last month we said goodbye to our sweet Ella. For 17 years, she was more than just a cow on our farm, she was family. The true matriarch of our herd. The steady presence in the pasture. The one who started it all in so many ways.

Michael has loved her since the very beginning. She was his pride and joy, and the cow that set the standard for all the rest. She carried a quiet strength and gentleness that has shaped our herd. So many of the cows in our barn carry her legacy, but there will never be another Ella.

Some animals are good.
Some are special.
And then there are the once-in-a-lifetime kind.
Ella was that kind.

Our barn will feel different without her, and so will our hearts. 🤎
