I spent a good part of yesterday extracting honey . I'm happy to say I was able to get some of our Knapw**d honey from the farm done . I just got a bunch of it bottled for the Alfred Farmers Market tomorrow.
Customers often ask me which honey I like the best and Knapw**d has to be first on my list. Knotw**d is a close second.
We did not have any Knapw**d honey last year because I had to move all the hives to Wellsville due to Bear issues. A hunter got the Bear last fall and I changed 2 hives at the farm. I'm happy they have not been molested up til now.
If you've never had Knapw**d honey stop by our booth and ask for a taste.
Another fact I'd like to share. Our raw honey is also not filtered. We do run it through a coarse sieve that removes large pieces of wax but allows small pieces and pollen to pass through.You will see this when you look at the jars.Other than comb honey ,this is the most healthful honey you can consume. It's not pretty like store bought honey that has usually been pasteurized and filtered . It will crystalize. A soak in warm tap water will solve that.
We also only use approved organic treatments for mite control.

Despite a very cranky back,I have quite a bit I want to accomplish today.
Tractor needs to go in for maintenance, a couple of honey supers need to be pulled at the farm,some w**d trimming needs to be done at the house and some mowing at the farm.
Thankfully,I have some help.

I met my sales goals for the weekend,so I'm happy about that. It didn't look good Saturday but Sunday was great.
Today I will probably fill some tincture bottles and do some stuff around the house that needs to be done.

Taste of Wellsville was okay yesterday. Not being on the main drag definitely affected my sales as repeat customers told me they had a hard time finding me. Had it not been for the last hour,the day would have been a total bust.
Today I will be at the Holistic and Wellness Fair at Lincoln Park in Olean from 10-4. We return to the Alfred Farmers Market next Sunday.

I'm going to scale back my heavy work load for a day or two to try and let my back and hip heal a bit. Fortunately I got ahead of a few things ,so I will be well stocked for this weekend.
Saturday we will be at the Taste of Wellsville from 1-7 at Island Park and Sunday we will be in Olean for the Holistic Healing and Wellness Festival at Lincoln Park.

Yesterday at Strolean was a home run. We seem to have developed a loyal following there and it was good to see familiar faces and meet some new ones.
We still have plenty of product for the Alfred Farmers Market today.
