Hi y'all! I miss you and it's hard to believe that it has been over 3 years since Rhubarb has closed! Anyway, I am not sure how many people will actually see this but here goes! Please donate if you can, every dollar counts! Big LOVE ❤️
For those who may not know, Deb from Radix Farm has been navigating chronic Lyme disease that has taken a serious toll on her health for the past decade. If you know Deb you love her (and if you don't know her, get 'yer butt down to the Wenatchee Valley Farmers Market RIGHT NOW and say hello!)
In recent years, her condition has progressed to where she struggles to meet farming’s physical demands. She and her husband Graham’s search for effective treatment has been long, exhausting, and expensive—requiring travel across the country in hopes of finding answers and relief.
Recently they discovered that mold exposure significantly worsens Deb’s symptoms and that it has been present in their home. While this brings clarity, it has also been devastating to learn that their sanctuary is contributing to her illness.
Remediation has been ongoing for the past two months, becoming more complex and lengthy after contaminated dust unintentionally spread through the home during the cleaning process. They’ve adapted as best they can, but it has taken its toll on their health and farming capabilities.
Between remediation and repairs, the cost to make their home safe will exceed $50,000.
Deb and Graham have spent years caring and tending this community with dedication and now they need some of that care returned.
On June 9th Carta (Leavenworth) will be hosting a coursed dinner with w**e pairings featuring local farms. The menu will be announced next week. If you are able to attend please email your name, and number of guests in your party to [email protected] space is limited to 40 people.
If you’re able to give, share, or help spread the word, it truly matters.
